How this is calculated
Reference market rate = the value of one gram of fine metal at the purity you chose, using the platform's verified reference price or one you enter yourself. This is a market fact, not your shop's price.
Shop rate = reference market rate, plus your own premium, or minus your own discount. Buy and sell are set independently β leaving either blank keeps that side equal to the reference rate.
Reference market rate vs. shop rate
Reference market rate is a verified market fact β the value of a fixed quantity of fine metal at your chosen purity, sourced from this platform's reference feed or a price you enter. Shop rate is yours: the reference rate adjusted by your own premium or discount, set independently for buying and for selling. This platform never assumes a typical spread for any market β every adjustment is a figure you entered.
What this calculator does not do
It does not add or assume any tax, VAT or GST. It does not fabricate a Gold or Silver price either β when no verified platform reference is available, it says so plainly rather than substituting a stale, guessed, or placeholder figure, and Manual price mode still works with a price you supply. It does not save, print, or record a rate anywhere β nothing here is a published board, a customer quote, or an accounting record.
